Born and raised in Effingham, my family had a small grocery business that started in 1934. It was creative and outreaching to the community. That is where I started at age of 9 and have been on a long road since.

I still live in Effingham with my wife Julie, and our 6 children. All are special in their own ways, keeping us busy with sports, academics, and social life, including Carley, who has Rett Syndrome. Julie was raised on a cattle farm in Bureau County Illinois and has been the Farm Bureau Manager in Effingham since 1998.

I personally have been most active in business marketing and finance. The largest portion of my resume is located in retail banking & mortgage, but most recently, I stepped out of my comfort zone to be Business Development Director of Utz + Associates Architects. We invest in the market of architecture development, interior design & property development.

I have been active with the Effingham Area Home Builders Association since 2007, serving for many years as Board Treasurer and earning the prestigious award of Charles “ Chuck” Warner Award for Participation in 2014.

I was also on the Lake Land College Alumni Board, serving the Board in many compacities, including Board President in from 2006 to 2008.

I accepted the nomination Board Position with HBAI after 2 years as the EAHBA local representative. I am currently the HBAI Board Second Vice President.
