Politics is About Relationships
Your ability to influence the outcome of any bill or rule considered at the Illinois Statehouse has much to do with the number of legislators we all know and the depth for which we know them.
An initial step in our 2017 Strategic Plan to enhance our Government Affairs Mission at the Home Builders Association of Illinois is to create a data base of relationships that our members have with Springfield politicians and use those personal ties to increase new home ownership.
VoterVoice has made it easy for us to get started and now we ask that you take just a few minutes out of your day to hit the link below and fill us in with who you know and how you know them.
-
Hit the link.

If you already have registered for VoterVoice your information will show and then click the “continue” button.
-
If you haven’t previously registered for VoterVoice complete the information requested and then click the “continue” button.
-
Under “Jurisdiction” click the arrow and hit “Illinois.”
-
Under “Official Name” click the arrow and choose one of the names. You will see the Constitutional Officers followed by the Senators and Representatives in alphabetical order. Click the name of someone you know.
-
Under “Relationship” click the arrow and choose one of the categories; be it “Family, Business, Social, or Other.”
-
Under “Notes” give specifics like, “We attend the same church,” or, “I met him/her at the HBAI Lobby Day.”
-
Click “Assign” and then you are done; unless you know more than one legislator, which you probably do. If so, go to Step 10.
-
Please do this simple task again and again until we have all of your contacts in our data base.
