ComEd Deadline – December 31, 2020
Bill Ward, Executive Vice President
Developers in the ComEd service area have until December 31, 2020 to submit their properties to HBAI to be grandfathered in from the new regulation requiring the utility lines to now be placed in the front yards. Developments that have received preliminary plat approval or better will be allowed to keep the electrical utility lines and boxes in the back-yard easement area.
Since my first article on this matter I have received subdivision lists from the following companies:
American Colony Homes | Harding Custom Homes, LLC |
Avanti Property Group | Keim Corporation |
Beechen & Dill Homes | Lennar Corporation- Chicago Dvision |
Charleton Highlands Development LLC | Mark Scaggs, Developer |

Flaherty Builders, Inc. | Shodeen Group, LLC |
GDP Homes LLC | Stewart Construction |
Gallagher and Henry | T.J.Cachey Builders Inc ll |

If you have a development that needs to be grandfathered send me your name; company name; contact information; development names, phases, units; and, name of community you are working in.
If you sent me your information and you do not see your company name, please call me at (217) 753-3963 and re-send it. I will be doing regular updates on this bi-weekly from now until the end of the year.
Don’t wait until the last minute to do this. The holidays are right around the corner and forgetting to do this could cost you $2000 to $5000 per lot if you are not on our list.
Feel free to write me at billward@hbai.org for more information.
