Here are the major bills being addressed by the Home Builders Association of Illinois at the Illinois Statehouse. March Madness wasn’t invented in Springfield, but it has been perfected here.

HB2838 (Gershowitz) Makes Contractors liable for Non-Payment of Subcontractor’s Employees
HB2652/HB3399 (Stuart) – Requires all new housing to come equipped “Solar Panel Ready.” Cost Increase: $3500 on a single-family home.
HB255 (Guzzardi) – Repeals Rent Control Preemption.
HB2152 (Flowers) – Statewide Rent Control.
HB3499 (Manley) – In situations where an LLC construction company dissolves, those persons operating the LLC shall be personally liable for any outside Home Warrantees in effect that were constructed by the LLC.
HB1596 (Sims/Hoffman) – No Statute of Repose for Diseases contracted on a worksite. Bill has passed both Houses.
HB2343 (Gordon-Booth) – Mandatory Paid Sick Leave.
HB2619 (Martwick) – Contractor must pay Subcontractors by the end of the month following completion of the work.
HB2643 (Mason) – 15-Day Right of Rescission for Senior Citizens for Home Remodeling & Home Repair.
