Introducing Dakota Zubeck, who is doing an internship this summer for HBAI. Dakota is a Senior at the University of Illinois-Springfield, majoring in Political Science with a Minor in Legal Studies.
Dakota chose HBAI for his 8-week internship because he has worked for a home construction and remodeling company here in Springfield the past two years.
Right now, Dakota is using his solid computer skills to compose a Google Docs Spreadsheet that will provide information to all members on legislation HBAI addressed in the 100th General Assembly (2017-18).
He will also be doing quantitative analysis on how Illinois State Senators and Representatives voted on bills affecting the home construction and remodeling industries.
Another project for our intern will be to catalog contributions to HomePAC for the past 8 years. We want to provide to our HomePAC Trustees a road map of where our PAC dollars come from and who they go to.
Later, Dakota will be scheduling HBAI Legislative Outreach Meetings for the late summer and fall, as well as appointments with members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation who have been honored to receive the NAHB Defender of Housing Award. Six U.S. Representatives from Illinois will be receiving this award in the month of August.
Dakota will attend our HBAI Board of Directors Meeting scheduled later this month on the 21st here in Springfield.
